Happy New Year, SPO users! I wish all of you’ll have good lucks in 2018.

Thanks for staying with us for the year. We appreciate your opinion whether it’s negative and positive. When there are new support emails coming to my mailbox, I always feel happy because it means our users really care about SPO and we can do better to fix their problems.

Personally, I would like to thank for your support as the Customer Success Officer in 2017 (as you saw in our notification email).

In the coming year, we’re planning what features will help our store owners to get more values from SPO. If we can do a little bit better, our store owners can be beneficial to the little changes we made.

The Findings:

From our user research, we found that:

  1. Store owners care about social sharing of products or the store’s home page
  2. Store owners want to look good when visitors share their online store
  3. Store owners want visitors to generate referral traffics via social sharing.

What’s next?

Currently, we are researching how we can help our store owners in SEO and Social Media Marketing. Most SPO users want more sales and more traffic.

But I would say that there is NO silver bullet.

There is no app that you can install and Boom!… more sales coming in.

What we aim is not making a silver bullet. Instead, we strive to make a painkiller to solve your hair-burning problem. Finally, it can help you to save time and increase efficiency. And you’ll be happy to pay for the solution at a reasonable cost.

Bug Fixes Update v1.4.1: Bugs Appeared with More Products

Dear SPO users,

Thanks for your support to SPO. We have noticed some bugs where there are around 1,000 products in your store.

The bug fixes are listed as below:

  1. The search button is not working when there are around 1,000 products
  2. The next page button of paging is not working when there are around 1,000 products
  3. A hint pop up will be shown in the onboarding process. Users should turn off Adblockers to read the configuration instructions & edit the theme.liquid file.

New Feature Update v1.4: Optimize your blog for better SEO

Thanks for your support to SPO. We have noticed more users are using blogs to drive SEO for their stores. Therefore blog section will be included in SPO now.

Here are some latest features update or enhancement:

  1. Now you will see in a Campaign tab in SPO. Just click on it and click Create Campaign to set up a new campaign
  2. Fill in the campaign info and upload the campaign image.
  3. Choose to set up a sales campaign or game marketing campaign. Just choose Memory Dots now. Alternatively you can choose Weekend Sales to create a flash sales page in few minutes.
  4. Fill in the coupon details
  5. Congrats! You’ve finished. Launch the campaign. You can share the link to social media or simply email it to your customers.

New Feature Update v1.2: Keyword Rank Tracking for Shopify Store

Dear SPO users,

Thanks for your support to SPO. Since switching to paid plan on 13/1/2017, around 10% of our existing customers have switched to subscribe our service. Some users may find the change in a sudden. However we need to make a basic charge in order to continue improving the App and our service. We are sorry if there is any convenience caused.

We would like to thank for your generous support during the beta test stage.

At the mean time, we have launched Conversion Report. If you are having a low conversion issue, we are happy to help you with our professional review service.

Here are some latest features update or enhancement:

  • New features:
    • Keyword rank tracking for your store. You can set 1 – 5 keywords to be tracked. We’ll track whether your store appears at the top 100 when someone searches the keyword.
      * Please note that this new feature is still in beta. We need to test the stability before rolling out more. Kindly let us know if it’s useful for you.

Announcing New Service, Review Your Store With Conversion Report

Since the beginning of developing SPO, we discovered that many users were having a very common problem,

Many store owners simply didn’t know what to do when their stores couldn’t get any sales. We discovered the problem had been happening on different platforms or forums like Shopify, Reddit, Quora or other ecommerce platforms. The problem has been repeated and repeated again.

New Features Update for v1.1: Home Page Support and Simplified Liquid Code Installation

Thanks for your support of SPO. Since releasing in Mid Dec, more than 110 Shopify stores have been trying SPO to enhance SEO and Social Performance.

We have launched Terminal App to help store owners quickly share their stores on Facebook, if they just wanna have a quick share instead of playing with liquid code.

Here are some latest features update or enhancement:

  • Enhancement:
    • Auto copy of updated product title to meta title and URL handle
    • Auto copy of updated meta title, description to Facebook Share and Twitter Cards
    • Default title, description & image of all pages are set for Facebook Share and Twitter Cards in your shop, except those product pages that you have customized. You can update it in the setting page.
  • Fixed:
    • Product listing page cannot show all store products
    • Product search cannot fetch all products

 

Action Required

To adopt the latest features, please update your liquid code immediately. We have simplified the process since many store owners reflected they had difficulties in adding liquid code snippet on their own.

  1. Refer to the previous tutorial to remove the old codes on your ‘social-meta-tags.liquid’.
  2. Refer to the new tutorial‘s step 5-7 to configure your theme again, which is much easier now.
